Samuel Avery (1731-1806) was a land speculator in colonial America. Collection consists of papers relating to Avery's land speculations in Vermont and on the Susquehanna River; draft of his brief in Avery v. Holt (land lottery case), ca. 1772; drafts of papers on political subjects in the period preceding the Revolution; and miscellaneous business papers.
