This collection consists of Raymond Cwieka's research materials on two Polish dances: the Mazurka and the Polonaise. The research materials are photocopied pages of Russian, Polish, and German dance manuals, with Cwieka's translations and working notes. The manuals originally date from the 19th to the mid-20th century. The collection also contains digital files of two books written by Cwieka: Polonaise: Story of a Dance and Mazur-Mazurka: The Brilliant Glorious Dance. These books cite and describe the manuals represented in this collection.
