Slim scrapbook containing newspaper clippings and other materials collected over a hundred-year period relating to the 1839 trial of Archibald Bolam for the murder of Joseph Millie in Newcastle, England. A late 19th/early 20th-century manuscript note at the front explains that some of the clippings were collected by "the late William Brockie, author of the Folks of Shields, Sunderland Notables, " With an 1856 clipping from the Sydney Morning Herald bearing Bolam's autograph note and initials in ink; an 1838 engraving of the Royal Arcade in Newcastle, by J. Sands after T. Allom; an 1839 manuscript "Statement of the Millie Fund"; and a 1931 photograph of the sun-dial made and presented by Bolam in 1857 to the Sydney Botanical Gardens.
