· To James Elmes, writer on architecture : 1 autograph letter : 13 Aug 1817 : (MISC 2021) : third person acknowledgment for his Hints on the Improvement of Prisons (1817). Mounted in the William Upcott album of letters by Eminent Women. Shelved under "Upcott" with bound manuscript volumes.
· To Amelia Opie, novelist and poet : 1 autograph letter signed : 12 Dec 1829 : (O'ANA 0019) : returning a borrowed Robert Southey letter (possibly O'ANA 0013) and requesting a copy of it "because I think that there is much truth in its contents." Mounted in the grangerized copy of Memorials of the Life of Amelia Opie. Shelved with oversized manuscript volumes.
· To a "Dear friend" : 30 Apr 1823 : (MISC 3646) : responding to a request for advice in obtaining positions at Millbank Penitentiary and one other unnamed institution as a consulting surgeon.
· To an "Esteemed Friend" : 24 Apr 1830 : (B'ANA 0041) : regarding her request for a sermon of J. Venn's to be printed, and commenting on the slow production of her forthcoming Texts for Every Day in the Year.
