William Johnson Fox, English preacher, politician, and journal editor. He was the editor of The Monthly Repository from 1827 to 1836, during which time he nurtured the writing career of Harriet Martineau, and was one of the first critics to recognize the promise of Tennyson and Browning. · To a Miss Letitia Kinder, future second wife of law reformer Edwin Wilkins Field and mother of painter Walter Field : 2 autograph letters signed : 9 Nov - 26 Dec 1829 : (MISC 1565-1566) : concerning personal affairs and asking her to review some books and to write for The Monthly Repository.
