· To Amelia Collinson, wife of the Rev. John Collinson, rector of Gateshead : 1 autograph letter signed : 1 Sep 1826 : (MISC 3938) : 4 pages (double sheet) : [no place] : begins, "I was from home when your letter arrived spending some days to get through in the neighborhood of Malvern, which must account for my delay in answering it ...." Mounted in the Agatha Hogsbottom autograph album. Shelved with oversized manuscript volumes.
· To Mr. Houlston of F. Houlston & Son, printers & booksellers : 1 autograph letter signed : 3 Mar 1823 : (MISC 4071) : 3 pages (double sheet) : [no place] : begins, "We received your parcel on Saturday night -- but are sorry to not see the Lady of the Manor, nor Little Emily in French ..."; along with another manuscript letter (MISC 4070) in an unidentified hand to Houlston from the "Young Ladies of Sherwood Cottage," dated 2 Dec 1822, signed by twenty-four students (including four Sherwood children), requesting copies of Sherwood's Lady of the Manor to be sent before the holiday.
· To William Ward, missionary in India and journalist : 1 autograph letter signed : [no date] : (MISC 4105) : 3 pages (double sheet) : [no place] : begins, "I shall have the greatest pleasure in conveying your small parcel to ENgland & when arrived dispatching it as directed ...".
