Author, peace activist, world government advocate and philanthropist, Georgia Lloyd, 1913-1999, was executive secretary of the Campaign for World Government from 1943 until 1990. The Campaign for World Government, founded by Rosika Schwimmer and Lola Maverick Lloyd in December 1937, was among the first organizations to advocate a democratic federal world government. The Campaign was divided between two offices in separate cities, with the international campaign headquartered in New York City and the national campaign in Chicago. This collection consists of the records of the New York office, but documents both the Campaign's international and national efforts. Records of the Chicago office are described separately. less
