Bell was a founder of the Gay Activists Alliance and wrote for many gay and mainstream presses, including the popular column "Bell Tells" in the Village Voice. Lypsinka performs in shows that are elaborately created sound-plays with moods, themes and narrative threads culled from movie dialogue and old records.
