Emile Ardolino (1943-1993) was a prolific director, producer, editor, and multimedia designer for television, film, and theater productions. He was best known for directing the Academy Award-winning documentary He Makes Me Feel Like Dancin,' the sleeper film Dirty Dancing, and the comedy hit Sister Act. Ardolino's papers date from the 1950s to the 1990s, and chronicle his professional career primarily through video and sound recordings, production materials, posters, notes, correspondence, programs, photographs, contracts, artifacts, and plaques. While most of the collection comes from Adolino's work as a director and sometime-producer of feature films, television series, and television movies, his early work in multimedia design, acting, and film editing is also represented. less

Lizanne Truex (née Elizabeth Ann Williams, 1931-2013), was known for her work in the movies, most recognizably Oklahoma. Early in her career, she joined the Agnes De Mille Dance Theatre. Truex also appeared in stage productions such as Can Can and Monte Proser's Tropicana Revue. The Lizanne Truex papers, dated 1953 to 1961, and 2007, hold mostly memorabilia from her screen and stage work including playbills from the Agnes De Mille Dance Theatre and Can Can; a biographical sketch by Larry Billman, and photograph copies from stage productions. less
