The American Tap Dance Foundation (ATDF) is a non-profit organization committed to establishing and legitimizing tap as a vital component of American dance through creation, presentation, education, and preservation. The ATDF records, dating from 1935 to 2019, document its history and activities, as well as the careers of two of its co-founders, tap dancers Brenda Bufalino and Tony Waag. It also illustrates the history and development of tap dance. Founded by Brenda Bufalino, Tony Waag, and Charles "Honi" Coles in New York City in 1986, the American Tap Dance Orchestra (ATDO) was a non-profit tap dance company known for its focus on the musicality of tap dance. Documenting the organization's activities from 1988-1995, the records contain agendas and meeting minutes; correspondence; auditors' reports, budgets, and financial statements; and notes on advertisement and grant possibilities. The ATDO now operates as the American Tap Dance Foundation. less

Eye on Dance was an interview program concerned with all varieties of dance, ranging from ballet to modern, tap dancing to break dancing. The series initially aired on WNYC and WNYE in New York from 1981 to 1992. Produced by Celia Ipiotis and Jeffrey Bush and hosted by Ipiotis, Eye on Dance always featured video excerpts to illustrate discussion topics. The Eye on DanceRecords consist of research material, programs and clippings related to the various subjects addressed on the series. There are also some episode scripts from the series, and office files from the non-profit arts organizations in which Ipiotis and Bush were involved. less
