Hyams was the head of publicity for the Lincoln Center Repertory Company during the 1960s, and the editor of Theatre: The Annual of the Repertory Theatre of Lincoln Center. The Barry Hyams papers date from 1947 to 1963 and document Hyams' work as a press representative for Broadway. He was the first and longest-lasting press agent for Joseph Papp and the Public Theater, from its inception in the 1950s until 1985. The Merle Debuskey papers date from 1952 to 1996 and document Debuskey’s work as a press representative for Broadway and Off-Broadway theater productions, and his work with The Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers (ATPAM). Howard Kyle (1861-1950) was an American stage and radio actor who was active from the 1880s to the 1930s. He served as secretary of the Actors' Equity Association from 1913 until 1919, when he resigned from the organization and joined the Actors' Fidelity League. As a member of the Players, he worked to have an Edwin Booth memorial sculpture erected in Gramercy Park. The Howard Kyle papers date from the 1870s to 1954 and contain correspondence, photographs, theater programs, event programs, clippings, and other documents concerning his professional and personal life. The collection contains materials related to his work with Actors' Equity, the Actors' Fidelity League, the Players, and other theater organizations. The collection also contains materials concerning productions he was involved with, including the Howard Kyle Players production of Nathan the Wise (1912) and performances by the Century Theatre Club. The majority of the photographs are of Kyle or his wife, actor Amy Urcilla Hodges. There are also unidentified photographs and photographs of fellow performers, including singer Rosa Ponselle. Some of the photographs are inscribed to Amy Hodges. The collection also contains an unidentified one-act script and a eulogy for actor Henry Miller. The collection contains her letters to, from, and regarding her clients, and photographs of clients such as Paul Roebling, Billy Dee Williams, Cherry Hardy, and Hunt's friend Beverly Sills. There are contracts for Maria Karnilova and Theodore Ward. The bulk of the correspondence is short letters. The collection includes a copy of a three-page letter from David O. Selznick, dated 1956, in which he critiques Hunt's proposed contract for Roebling. There are also memoranda to and from John Shubert, dating from 1944 to 1950, when Hunt was his assistant. The collection includes some production photographs, notably of The Corn is Green (1948), which Hunt co-directed. There is a letter, a program, and photographs from the Broadway-Hollywood Revue with Perry Como, which Hunt directed in 1949. The earliest materials in the collection are 1926 photographs of Cherry Hardy and of vaudeville performers Virginia and Maxine Loomis. less

Jean Rosenthal (1912-1969) was a stage lighting designer whose work included productions of the Martha Graham Dance Company, the Metropolitan Opera, the Dallas Civic Opera, the American Ballet Theatre, and Broadway shows such as A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (1962) and I Do! I Do! (1966). She founded a theatrical supply business, Theatre Production Service, in 1940. The Jean Rosenthal professional files date from 1954 to 1970 (bulk 1961 to 1969). The collection contains business records; clippings about Rosenthal and productions she worked on; programs from her productions; articles by Rosenthal, including drafts with handwritten corrections; and resumes and promotional photographs of Rosenthal. Business records pertain to Rosenthal's work as a designer, especially for the Martha Graham Company; her work as a theater consultant; and the Theater Production Service. The business records contain documents such as contracts, expense reports, production schedules, job applications, and related correspondence. Martha Graham Dance Company files contain memoranda and reports from the company's board of directors, in addition to materials directly concerning Rosenthal's employment. The business records include a file on a lighting design class that Rosenthal taught at the Lester Polakov Studio of Stage Design. Carolyn Leigh, lyricist, was born 21 August 1926 in New York. She wrote lyrics for the Broadway shows PETER PAN, WILDCAT, HOW NOW DOW JONES, and LITTLE ME and for a tribute to labor commissioned by the U.S. Dept. of Labor, SOMETHING TO DO. She also wrote for television and numerous popular songs including "Young at Heart" and "Firefly". Ms. Leigh died in New York in 1983 and was inducted posthumously into the Song Writers' Hall of Fame in 1985. Among her principal collaborators were Cy Coleman, Mark 'Moose' Charlap, John Richards, Philip Springer, Elmer Bernstein, Morton Gould, and Lee Pockriss. The Carolyn Leigh Papers include notes, drafts of lyrics and scripts, outlines, clippings, production records, financial records and business and personal correspondence.
