Neither Richard S. nor Thomas Allen could be identified; the letter mentions Thomas's mother and father (James), as well as his brothers (David and little James) and sisters. · To "Monsieur Thomas" (i.e., Thomas Allen) : 1 autograph letter signed "Richard S." : 15 November 1803 : (MISC 4416) : 3 pages (double sheet) : from London : sent "by favour of Mr. Prendergust"; from an older friend (perhaps a tutor) back home. Richard gives Thomas advice, news on his family, and asks how his French lessons are going, adding: "Si votre Maître de François [sic] est royaliste, faites-lui mes compliments; s'il est Corse, tuez-le, tuez-le, et donnez-le aux chiens . . . .".
