Henry Howard Harper (1871-1953), American writer and editor. He served for years as an officer for The Bibliophile Society of Boston, and produced several works privately printed by that group, including The Letters of Charles Lamb (1905); Byron's Malach Hamoves (1918); and Letters of Mary W. Shelley (1918). · To H. Buxton Forman, Shelley bibliographer : 2 typescript letters signed : -- 17 Nov 1910 : (S'ANA 0726) : from Boston; begins, "I herewith enclose a copy of the letter of William Godwin written to John Taylor..." [copy not present]. With penciled notes at the head of the sheet in Forman's hand. -- 13 Dec 1910 : (S'ANA 0727) : from Boston; begins, "I herewith send you the original Godwin letter..." [ms. letter not present]. Godwin's letter of 27 Aug 1814 was used by Forman in his "Elopement of Percy Bysshe Shelley and Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin as narrated by William Godwin," published by the Bibliophile Society in 1911. Both letters are on Bibliophile Society stationery.
