Sumner Arthur Long (1921-1993) was a writer for television, theater, and film. His papers document his career from 1950 to 1989. The bulk of the collection consists of theater and television scripts from plays such as Never Too Late and Angela and television series such as Lassie. In addition to scripts, the collection contains correspondence, contracts, and other material related to Long's theatrical works, notably Never Too Late, which was produced on Broadway in 1962. less

He was best known for directing the Academy Award-winning documentary He Makes Me Feel Like Dancin,' the sleeper film Dirty Dancing, and the comedy hit Sister Act. Ardolino's papers date from the 1950s to the 1990s, and chronicle his professional career primarily through video and sound recordings, production materials, posters, notes, correspondence, programs, photographs, contracts, artifacts, and plaques. While most of the collection comes from Adolino's work as a director and sometime-producer of feature films, television series, and television movies, his early work in multimedia design, acting, and film editing is also represented. less
